AHRQ determining the perspectives of stakeholders on priorities for economic analyses of billable pharmacy services in OntarioThis applied health research question will be addressed through interviews with key stakeholders with an interest in Ontario pharmacy services, including representatives from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, provincial pharmacy licensing body and associations, drug plans, pharmacy corporations and chains, academics in related research fields, practising pharmacists, and members of the public.

Research question

This study seeks to determine which Ontario pharmacy services are of highest priority to conduct an economic analysis according to stakeholders, and which research methods are preferred to provide greatest value to decision-making and patient care?

Interview questions will explore the perceived need for and value of economic analyses of pharmacy services, preference of which service(s) should be evaluated, input regarding the most valuable methodological approaches, and anticipated barriers and facilitators related to the conduct of the analyses or the use of the results by stakeholders.

The key outcome will be the development of a research strategy for economic analyses of pharmacy services in Ontario.
