OPEN’s Deprescribing guidelines for the elderly project aims to produce evidence-based guidelines to support interdisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals in tapering or stopping medications and monitoring for adverse drug withdrawal reactions in elderly patients.
The project’s research team expects that the guidelines they develop will reduce adverse drug reactions, lower the prevalence of polypharmacy, and improve the quality of life among the elderly and their families.
