Lisa’s research goal is to understand the adoption of communication skills, practice tools, and innovations with the aim of enhancing patient-centred care in community pharmacy practice. Applications include mixed-methods approaches to pharmacists’ adoption of prescribing and vital behaviours for pharmacist–patient engagement. Her teaching focuses on practical techniques pharmacists can use to engage patients in dialogue about their medications.
Lisa completed a BSc Pharm with Distinction from the University of Alberta and started her career in community pharmacy. She obtained a Master of Science from University of Alberta and a PhD in Social and Administration Sciences in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin.
