April completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree in 2009 from the University of British Columbia and a pharmacy residency at London Health Sciences Centre in 2010–11. She went on to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto from 2012–14 and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist designation in 2015. She currently works as a clinical pharmacist in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto. Her research interests include antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, infectious diseases and expanding the role of pharmacists.
April is a part-time MSc student on the Pharmacist services evaluation framework project and the MedsCheck and Pharmaceutical Opinion Programs project.
During an earlier placement that ran from January to February 2014, April conducted a jurisdictional scan as part her PharmD research rotation on an applied health research question that explored community pharmacy-delivered medication management services in place in each province and the structure of those services.
