Connie is the chair OPEN’s Advisory Committee, a group of individuals who help ensure that knowledge users inform our research and that OPEN’s findings influence policy and practice.
Connie is also a member of OPEN’s Pharmacist services evaluation framework project, a research study that is developing a framework to provide evaluators and decision-makers critical guidance on the process and expected outcomes of pharmacist services.
A pharmacist with over 40 years of experience in community and hospital pharmacy, Connie brings to OPEN her diverse expertise as project coordinator and investigator of a Pharmacist Consultation Program for Family Practice, the Seniors Medication Assessment Research Trial (SMART) project — a large randomized controlled trial evaluating the consultation program — and as investigator/project manager of the IMPACT project.
Connie has taught pharmacy students at the University of Toronto, been an assessor for the Ontario College of Pharmacists Quality Assurance Program, and an Education Coordinator for the Ontario Pharmacists Association. She has also served on the Ontario Pharmacists Association Council and has chaired its Continuing Education Planning Committee for several years.
Connie is the recipient of several prestigious awards — the Canadian Centennial Pharmacist Award in 2007 from the Canadian Pharmacists Association, the Innovative Practice Award in 2002 from the Canadian Pharmacists Association, and the Pharmacist of the Year Award in 1995 from the the Ontario Pharmacists Association.
